India has produced another AI unicorn, and this one is coming for the way software itself gets built. Emergent, the Bengaluru- and San Francisco-based vibe coding platform, has closed a roughly $130 million Series C round that values the company at $1.5 billion, making it the latest Indian-founded startup to cross the unicorn threshold in a funding cycle that shows no signs of cooling off.

The round is being led by private equity firm Creaegis, with Amazon and Ranjan Pai's family office Claypond Capital also participating. The valuation jump is staggering by any measure. Emergent was valued at just $300 million as recently as January 2026, meaning its valuation has increased fivefold in under six months.

For solo founders and non-technical operators watching from the sidelines, Emergent's trajectory is a live case study in how fast the AI-native startup playbook can compound when product-market fit hits hard.
